JAZZ TRIO
Jazz – Music for Events
The music style of Jazz was born in the early 20th century in the United States, from a combination of African music and white immigrant folk songs. African music is mainly based on rhythm and improvisation in the form and manner of borrowing – exactly the opposite with music of the white immigrants from cultures whose music was based on harmony (chords) and structure. Jazz music is played on Western instruments including the piano, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, bass and drums.
Jazz – Diverse Music
As time went on, jazz music has evolved in many directions resulting in a variety of streams such as Dixieland, B-Bop, Swing and Fusion … each variation was a different accent, or emphasis.
For example, the stream called 'Me-Bop' whose structure is a clever improvisation based on harmony. The musicians would meet at clubs and compete in the art of improvisation. Conversely, swing band musicians played all together from sheet music. No doubt there was also an element of improvisation, but only for a very short time.
Alongside the development of Jazz in the United States, the evolution in Europe developed Gypsy Jazz, Latin-American and others.
The dominant instruments were guitars, drums and bass. Jazz in America combines styles of Latin music such as the Tango and Samba; the Latin jazz. The beat of Latin jazz is much more rich and lively. Currently the most popular in Latin jazz is the Bossa Nova.
It is important to note that every version or stream of jazz has crafted a very specific, creative, unique harmony and improvisation element to a different degree. Jazz is not so popular among the mixed population of our country, but no doubt – Jazz is a very special style and luxury.
Based on years of experience in events, we at Yeroshalmim Production have created an ensemble of three musicians – saxophone player, electric piano player and drummer. However, the ensemble may be changed to a keyboard player, violin and saxophone (clarinet); as requested or needed by the individual client.
The Jazz Trio program is based on the known, loved and accepted standards of jazz and is comprised of music and compositions in styles of Swing, Gypsy Jazz, Dixieland, Bossa Nova and more …
Our primary emphasis is on familiar melodies which are memorable and pleasant to the ear; enabling quiet music behind guest conversations, with an element of improvisation. In addition we perform in the traditional forms of jazz.
At Yeroshalmim Production we recognize the importance of presenting a professional, pleasing appearance.
